A Thank You from The President of the Isle of Iowa Parrothead Club-

As President of the Isle of Iowa, I want to take this time to thank each person and musician who traveled to the state of Iowa, the city of Clear Lake, the Surf Ballroom and Museum and Island Fever Showcase!  We hope you enjoyed your stay in our great state and found our people warm and welcoming…. maybe you might even come back!

Since returning home I’ve had time to sit back and reflect on Island Fever Showcase and the loss of a legend, James William Buffett.  How appropriate his death occurred during the Labor Day Weekend Show at the iconic Surf Ballroom?  I’m glad we could be there to party and grieve his loss together as friends and one big family!

First off, I want to thank the board, our club and various members from other clubs, who without your support and help, Island Fever Showcase wouldn’t have happened! To our basket ladies…. WOW!  Amazing job as always, gals!  To the Surf Ballroom, the city of Clear Lake, the Clear Lake Chamber, our sponsors, the local bars who graciously hosted a musician (the VFW, the Lady of the Lake, Elly’s, 173 Craft Distillery, Lake Time Brewery) thank you for letting these fun-loving Parrotheads invade your quiet little town!  Hopefully we didn’t cause too much trouble?  Lastly, thank you to my three sons and their wives,  Chadd (Shanda), Travis (Iliana) and Lucas (Angela) for all your help and support and for enjoying the music as much as your crazy parents, guess we brought you up right….I love you!

Let’s remember “He told us not to be sad or scared, but to keep the party going… (responsibly, of course).”
