It’s hard to believe Island Fever Showcase is just a little over three months away! The schedule for the Surf Ballroom and Museum is pretty much set, as listed in the previous post. The music for around Clear Lake on Friday is getting close to being finalized. Friday morning, after breakfast, grab yourself a cup of coffee or other beverage and tour the North Iowa Central Gardens. It opens at 10:00am. It will be a great way to start your day! Then head down the street to Elly’s. Many of you from previous years will remember this as Sharky’s. New ownership took over several months ago. Tall Paul and Kristie Bobal will be playing from 11:00am – 1:00 pm in the beer garden. Some of you will have to take off halfway through for the two-hour cruise on the Lady of the Lake, a large paddle wheel boat. That cruise is already almost full! If you want to still get on, you better purchase your tickets soon! Then head over a block and up the street to the 173 Craft Distillery for the next event. Thom Shepherd and Coley McCabe Shepherd will be playing from 1:15pm -3:15pm. This venue is brand new. They have their own liquors, as well as some craft beers on tap and some canned domestics. They also have a limited food menu. This venue also has a rooftop bar. Halfway through, the boat cruisers will be back on shore to join us. Then it’s off to Lake Time Brewery. Music Artist playing from 3:30pm – 5:30pm is TBA. A “Furkin” of a beer brewed just for the Parrot Heads will be tapped and served. Something new to the Brewery this year will be beer slushies. We are working to have a food truck available. All of these venues are within walking distance of each other. Some may have limited seating, so we are asking those that drive in to throw some lawn chairs in their vehicles. Maybe throw in one or two extras to be available for those that fly in. All of these events are at no cost to anyone, except the boat cruise, which is a ticketed event. You will have an hour break after this event before Mike Nash and Friends take the stage at the Surf Ballroom. Don’t miss out on this Bucket List Event.
